December 2013 Grand Knight’s Message

I want to start out by thanking everyone who helped make our Italian Night a big success.  I am constantly being told by the parishioners who attended that they had a great time and they want to know when we are going to have our next party.  I hope to schedule our next party in the beginning of next year.  Anyone who is interested in helping to organize that please let me know.

On December 6th at 7 pm we have our first Monthly social taking place.  We will be meeting in Meeting Room 1 next to the stage in Fellowship Hall.  We plan on ordering some pizzas and maybe playing cards, every member is welcome to come down.  The plan is also to discuss what other social events we would like to do in the future.

In other news the Good Shepherd Women’s Auxiliary is up and running.  They have a very nice sized group and are ready to start working with us.  The first thing they are going to be doing with us is helping out with our Christmas Party on December 14th.  I hope that with the extra help we can put together an even better event for the less fortunate families in our neighborhood.

The final thing I would really like everyone to consider is helping out at the Veterans Home in Stony Brook.  They are having a real problem getting enough help to bring the Vets from their rooms to events, especially their council meetings.  So I am asking anyone who can to please come down on the first Saturday of every month at 9:30 am to help.  Even if you can’t do it every month any help would be a big help.
